2024 Michigan PGA Fall Meeting

 

NEW FORMAT!

We are excited to offer a new and improved schedule for the day, integrating two hours of education in with our normal business agenda. The two speakers we have selected will touch on how physical and mental wellness is so crucial as a golf professional in today’s world!

Elections will also be held for District 5 Director and five At-Large Directors.

Date: Monday, October 21, 2024
Time: 9AM-3PM
Cost: $45.00

– 2 hours of Education
– 6 PDR’s (PGA Required 4 meeting & 2 education)

At-Large Director Election

The candidates listed below have been nominated and seconded 30 days prior to the Fall Meeting which allows their name to be included on the ballot at the October 21, Fall Meeting. Candidates nominated and seconded after this date will still be allowed to run but not be included on the ballot.

As part of the election guidelines, candidates have been allowed to submit a bio to be sent to the Membership and posted online. Please review them below prior to the meeting so you are prepared to elect your next representatives.

District 5 Director Election

Every nine years, Michigan has the opportunity to choose a District Director to represent the Michigan, Northern Ohio and Southern Ohio Sections on the National Board of Directors. At the upcoming October 21, 2024 Fall Meeting, that very important election will take place.

Individuals interested in running must have attended at least one PGA of America Annual Meeting and have served as a Section Officer.

This intelligent and thought-provoking presentation will guide you on what to do and how to do it.

Matt will talk about the three pillars to feeling your best:
– RESTING
– EATING
– MOVING, and how to rethink these areas!

 


“Promoting Mental Wellness & Suicide Prevention”

featuring Stephanie Rosales, LMSW, CST, TCTSY-F (bio)

Stephanie will speak on suicide prevention and mental wellness addressing the unique pressures and mental health issues we face, and emphasize the connectedness of physical and psychological health.

Stephanie will highlight:
– Specific and general risk factors.
– Warning signs of mental health struggles and suicidal behavior.
– Practical prevention steps and intervention strategies.
– The role of support systems, including family and peers, and institutional support.
– Address coping strategies for those who have lost someone to suicide, offering tools for grief management and community support.

Additionally, the session will provide valuable resources such as hotlines and counseling services. Concluding with a Q&A, participants will leave with knowledge and tools to support mental wellness and how to cope with loss.
